Program Overview

Living the Values

The Navy lives its values of honor, courage, and commitment when caring for wounded, ill, and injured Service Members and their families and caregivers. From hospital bedside visits to transition planning, Navy Wounded Warrior staff work tirelessly to help Sailors and Coast Guardsmen get the non-medical support they need to ultimately return to duty or make a soft landing into civilian life.

Non-Medical Care

Navy Wounded Warrior teams customize support to each enrolled Service Member's needs. Personalization looks different for everyone, but all enrollees receive a tailored, comprehensive care plan that addresses and supports the enrollee's realistic goals across recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Support includes:
  • Pay and personnel matters
  • Lodging and housing adaptation resources
  • Education benefits and job-training guidance
  • Adaptive sports and reconditioning
  • Transition assistance to the VA
  • Caregiver resource navigation
