Warrior Care Month
November is Warrior Care Month. It was established in 2008 “to increase awareness of programs and resources available to wounded, ill, and injured service members, their families, and those who care for them.” The Department of Defense was tasked to “continue to make it easier for our troops and their families to take advantage of all the assistance now available to them.”
Navy Wounded Warrior’s motto is Numquam Navigare Solus, Never to Sail Alone. The Navy lives its values of honor, courage and commitment when caring for wounded, ill and injured service members and their families and caregivers.
About Navy Wounded Warrior
As an official Department of the Navy program, Navy Wounded Warrior provides services and assistance that fulfills the Navy and Coast Guard's promise to care for their people when the unexpected happens. Since 2006, Navy Wounded Warrior has helped more than 10,000 Sailors and Coast Guardsmen with individually tailored and comprehensive non-medical assistance designed to optimize the success of enrollees' recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration efforts.
Never Sail Alone
Navy Wounded Warrior enrollment is voluntary and available for post-9/11 actively serving Sailors and Coast Guardsmen of all ranks who have been seriously wounded, ill, or injured. Service members may self-refer or be referred by others, including a family member, their command, medical team, or social-service provider.
